Whipped Sugar Scrub

Below you will find the most decadent and “easy to make” sugar body scrub recipe you will ever need.   We experienced a version of this amazing body scrub at a high-end spa in Hawaii.  We were treated to another version at a local spa in the Seattle area and were reminded how much we loved the texture and results even a few days later.  I had the softest skin and the most amazing suppleness to my hands and feet I wanted to use it all the time.
I love a rich, moisturizing body scrub.  I also love a scrub that is not too slippery in the shower.  This amazing scrub has a balance of both exfoliating and moisturizing capabilities and don’t forget a fragrance to stimulate and embrace your senses.  I also prefer a scrub that is organic and free of chemicals.  I have very sensitive skin and don’t respond well to fragrances, salt scrubs, or chemicals.  This scrub takes all those items into consideration and works amazingly.  After using this scrub your skin will be hydrated, radiant, and so soft you won’t believe it is your own skin.  Note: This scrub is paraben and DMDM free if you use the recommended ingredients.

Instructions
  1. Place the Shea Butter in a large glass mixing bowl heat in a microwave for approximately 30 seconds.  Just until it is soft enough to whip with a mixer.  If the butter is not soft enough you will not be able to whip it properly if it is too soft it will not hold the light and fluffy texture after you add the oils.  Push down the butter as you go.
  2. Using a mixer with a whisk, whip the butter until it is a light and fluffy consistency similar to whipping cream.  While the butter is whipping measure out your coconut oil and heat in a microwave until just soft enough to whip approximately 30 seconds.  Gradually add the coconut oil to the whipped shea butter.  Whisk mixture until fully integrated and it has the consistency of whipped cream.  Push the butter/oil down in the bowl until they are fully mixed.
  3. Slowly add each of the measured oils until they are fully integrated with the oil and butter.  Once the oils have all been added and fully mixed begin gradually adding the sugar starting with the regular granulated sugar and finishing with the Raw Turbinado sugar.  Place in a freezer for 30 minutes to cool the oils before placing in the storage containers.
